Participatory Research (PR) is the co-construction of research through partnerships between researchers and people affected by, and/or responsible for action on, issues under study. PR is not a method, but rather a research approach, in which multi-stakeholder partnerships plan and implement quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research to generate health program and policy interventions, products, and knowledge.
