The Importance of Healthy Living Survey Results

August 5, 2014

Sudbury & District Health Unit- Last November, Statistics Canada conducted a telephone survey on behalf of the Sudbury & District Health Unit (SDHU) for selected residents aged 18 years or over to discuss the importance of healthy living. Statistics Canada has now provided the results to the SDHU to help with future planning of communication strategies, programs, and activities.

The survey asked 795 randomly selected households: Is healthy living important to you and your family? Do you actively use services and facilities available in the community to support a healthy lifestyle?

“We are very appreciative of Statistics Canada for conducting this survey free of charge to the Health Unit”, said Darshaka Malaviarachchi, Epidemiologist. “The valuable information gathered from the survey will help us tailor health unit programs to meet the needs of the residents and work with our partners to create opportunities for residents to achieve optimal health.”
