CAMH and OPHA calling for a Provincial Alcohol Strategy

November 29, 2019

Ontarians have more access to alcohol than ever before and further access is planned; the Province needs a plan to deal with the harms of alcohol-use. Alcohol remains our favourite drug and is a leading cause of disease and death, costing the province more than $5 billion in 2014. See link to provincial cost study available here

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and the Ontario Public Health Association are calling for the development of a Provincial Alcohol Strategy to mitigate the health, social, and economic impact of alcohol-use in Ontario.
