The Pan-Canadian Health Promoter Competencies: From Vision to Practice in Ontario

Health Promoter Competencies are a set of skills, knowledge and abilities necessary for the practice of health promotion. In this webinar, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the development of Pan-Canadian Health Promoter Competencies, which began in Ontario and are currently being validated in other provinces across Canada. After presenting a rationale for a set of Health Promoter Competencies for Canada and providing an update on its current development, a review of the Competencies and available resources will be provided. Two case studies will be presented to demonstrate how health promoters and health promoting organizations can utilize the Health Promoter Competencies, with opportunity for participants to ask questions and discuss their own personal and organizational experiences.
