How Are We REALLY Doing? Looking at the CIW 2014 Ontario Report from a Public and Community Health Perspective

What: Webinar
When: November 10, 2014
Time: 12:00 pm

The first Ontario Canadian Index of Wellbeing report titled “How Are Ontarians Really Doing?” contrasts progress in education, community vitality, and health with decline or stagnation in the domains of democratic engagement, environment, leisure and culture, time use, and living standards. Collective action is needed to address these areas of concern. This webinar will highlight the key findings of the Report using a social determinants of health lens, and explore the critical role of public and community health in improving the wellbeing of Ontarians across the province.

Learning Objectives

  1. Provide an overview of the findings of the 2014 CIW Ontario report
  2. Explore how the Report’s proposed idea of increasing access to Community Health Centres across the province can be realized
  3. Explore the links between the eight domains of the Canadian Index of Wellbeing and the social determinants of health
  4. Discuss the role of public health in improving the wellbeing of Ontarians
