Nourishing Minds: Towards Comprehensive School Community Health: Nutrition Policy Development in Saskatchewan Schools

Food Environment Promoting and supporting the healthy growth and development of children and youth is and development of children and youth is a shared responsiblity among family, school and other agencies such as public health, social services organizations, and government/non-government agencies. The school is an important access point for nutrition education, healthy eating practices, healthy food policy and modeling of healthy lifestyles. 

Comprehensive School Community Health (CSCH) is a collaborative approach that brings together groups to work together to enhance health and well-being of the whole community. This document focuses on school nutrition policy deveopment and implementation consistent with the CSCH guidelines resulting in partnerships, planning, promotion and provision of nutritious food in all Saskatchewan schools.
