The Updated NutriSTEP® Toolkit, 2015

The Updated NutriSTEP® Toolkit, 2015

The NutriSTEP® (Nutrition Screening for Toddlers and Preschoolers) program aims to assess eating habits and identify nutrition risk in children. The NutriSTEP® Toolkit, 2015 provides the information you need to implement the NutriSTEP® program in your community.

The Toolkit supports NutriSTEP®’s valid and reliable questionnaires to assist parents of toddlers and preschoolers. The questionnaires can help to inform discussions between healthcare providers and parents about their child's nutrition.

Building upon the many milestones since the conception of the NutriSTEP® Program in 1998, the NutriSTEP® Toolkit has been updated in 2015. The program continues to grow in innovative ways across a variety of sectors from public health to primary care.

This webinar will highlight:

  • NutriSTEP® program milestones to date both in research and in practice
  • The changes in the updated NutriSTEP® Toolkit, 2015 and how it can support public health units to implement  NutriSTEP®
  • Stories from the field highlighting cross-sectoral collaborations to implement NutriSTEP®
  • Future plans and projects for the NutriSTEP® program

  • Janis Randall Simpson, PhD, RD, FDC, College Professor Emerita, University of Guelph
  • Marie-Helene Traversy RN, Public Health Nurse, NutriSTEP ® Site Coordinator, Ottawa Public Health
  • Debbie Azim Fleming, Manager, Child and Family Health, Region of Waterloo Public Health Emergency Services
  • Michelle Saraiva, MAN, RD, Public Health Dietitian, Maternal & Child Health Team, School Health Team, Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit
