The Canadian Cancer Society is Taking Action on the #HPVvaccine

The Canadian Cancer Society is Taking Action on the #HPVvaccine

What: Webinar
When: February 18, 2016
Time: 12:00 PM
Where: Online

The human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is a strong weapon in cancer prevention. One of the Canadian Cancer Society’s key priorities is to increase uptake of the HPV vaccine among Grade 8 girls through a public education campaign. The focus will be to increase awareness of the link between HPV and cancer and the important role vaccination plays in reducing cancer risk. The Canadian Cancer Society is also currently advocating for the inclusion of boys into the Ontario school-based HPV vaccination program.

In this webinar, the Canadian Cancer Society will describe their #HPVvaccine campaign with public health units, school boards and other like-minded organizations with hopes to:
  • Share the Canadian Cancer Society's #HPVvaccine promotional kit
  • Discuss opportunities for collaboration
  • Educate the public on the importance of the #HPVvaccine and link to preventing cancer.

During this webinar, the importance of including boys in school-based HPV vaccination programs will also be discussed.
