Calling All #NutritionMonth Bloggers - the NRC Wants to Feature You!

Calling All #NutritionMonth Bloggers - the NRC Wants to Feature You!
February 7, 2018

Every year in March, Dietitians of Canada organizes "Nutrition Month" to provide information and guidance to make it easier for Canadians to choose, eat and enjoy healthy food.

Once again, the Nutrition Resource Centre is seeking out bloggers for this year's Nutrition Month. We're welcoming individual submissions (300-500 words) on topics or themes related to this year's theme:

"Unlock the Potential of Food"

This year's Nutrition Month has five topics that explore the potential of food:

  • Potential to fuel: Stay energized by planning nutritious snacks into your day
  • Potential to discover: Foster healthy eating habits in children by teaching them to shop and cook
  • Potential to prevent: Understand how food can help prevent chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes and heart disease
  • Potential to heal: Learn how food can promote healing and how dietitians work in health care teams to make a difference
  • Potential to bring us together: Enjoy the benefits of bringing families and friends together with food

We're looking for blogs that provide information and guidance, or spotlight a particular strategy or program, that will allow our audience of health professionals and intermediaries to support Ontarians in choosing, eating and enjoying food.
Why Take Part?

This is your chance to get involved with a community of like-minded people who share your passion for healthy eating and nutrition. Scholars, you can use this as an opportunity to promote and disseminate your ongoing research! Students and professionals, use this opportunity to expand your presence and get your content in front of some of Ontario's leading minds in nutrition and healthy eating.

Submission Criteria

All blogs should be original content owned by you that has been fact-checked and edited. We are looking for posts between 300 and 500 words in length that are informative in nature, and written in language geared towards an informed audience of dietitians, students and health promotion professionals working in a range of settings. We ask that a copyright cleared image and a short bio also be included.
Have questions? Interested in contributing? Please send a copy of your blog post. photos and bio or your questions to mwales@opha.on.ca by February 23rd, 2018. The NRC will review submissions and begin to publish the blog posts at the beginning of March 2018.

We look forward to hearing from you!
