In March 2016, the NRC circulated a survey to our stakeholders to assess satisfaction with our services, and to help inform future work by learning how we can better build capacity in healthy eating and nutrition promotion across Ontario. Additionally, we wanted the survey to act as a catalyst to promote our services; especially our newer offerings such as the NRC Navigator and consultations.

Five hundred and forty seven people completed some or all of the survey. We gathered a lot of valuable information from our respondents and are excited to share the highlights below:
  • Individuals from a wide range of sectors and from all regions of Ontario participated in NRC’s 2016 Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey.
  • The greatest proportion of survey respondents described the sector that they work in as Public Health (31%).
  • Over half (54%) of our respondents were Registered Dietitians and/or Public Health Nutritionists.
  • Our stakeholders work in both official languages and with different priority population groups. “Low income” & “Children” were the most common priority populations for our stakeholders.
  • Overall, stakeholders are highly satisfied with the NRC’s services that they have accessed.
  • The vast majority (just over 85%) of respondents indicated that have shared information that they learned from the NRC in some way - verbally or electronically - or intend to share such information in the near future.
  • Of the survey respondents who attended at least one of our workshops between 2013 and 2015, 97% were satisfied.
  • Over 25% of respondents attended between 5 and 35 webinars from 2013 to 2015. Virtually all respondents (97%) were satisfied with the webinars that they had attended between 2013 and 2015.
From the responses, we were able to highlight opportunities to work on in the coming year. Some of these include:
  • Investigating the possibility of offering more bilingual materials, to help support stakeholders working with non-English speakers.
  • Increasing promotion of its products and services in the year ahead, especially those that are accessed to a lesser extent. The NRC can also investigate ways to improve the services that received lower satisfaction scores.
  • Better publicizing eBooks and recordings from its workshops in 2016 and beyond; and  investigate alternate online formats for future events.
  • Investigating new ways to promote its webinars to reach a broader audience and consider varying the times at which webinars are offered, as well as promoting the availability of webinar materials on the NRC website.
  • Developing webinars related to high-interest topics; and promote post-webinar recordings to drive traffic to our website.
