Prevention System Quality Index: Health Equity

Health Equity This is the third Prevention System Quality Index report. This report monitors and recommends system-level policies and programs that can reduce cancer risk factors and exposures in Ontario. It highlights opportunities to reduce tobacco use, alcohol consumption, unhealthy eating and physical inactivity in groups with health inequities

Highlights of the Report include:
  • Ontarians facing health inequities are more likely to get certain cancers and less likely to survive them
  • Comprehensive strategies across multiple sectors and levels of government are needed to reduce cancer risk factors, which affect all Ontarians but especially those facing health inequities
  • A major focus of the report is First Nations, Inuit and M├ętis peoples in Ontario
