Action and Knowledge on the Determinants of Health Among People and Communities in Canada

On October 22nd, Canada’s Minister of Health, The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor announced a funding opportunity for innovative projects that promote child and youth mental health. The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC)’s Mental Health Promotion Innovation Fund (MHP-IF) is thus pleased to invite eligible organizations to submit a Letter of Intent, by November 26th, 2018 at noon (EST), for Phase 1 funding of projects that promote child and youth mental health through the design, testing, delivery and evaluation of innovative interventions.

For full details about this solicitation including eligibility, how to apply, deadlines and contact information, visit: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/funding-opportunities/grant-contribution-funding-opportunities/mental-health-promotion-innovation-fund.html

While many promising mental health promotion interventions exist, more rigorous research is needed to understand what works, for whom and in what contexts.

The MHP-IF is seeking to fund projects to:
  • Test and implement innovative solutions to promote child and youth mental health by addressing risk and protective factors
  • Work at multiple levels (individual, family, community and broader structural and system levels) to address the social determinants of health
  • Build and maintain partnerships across multiple sectors and jurisdictions
  • Conduct evaluation and population health intervention research to advance health equity

Kindly distribute this email among your networks.

You are also encouraged to follow @GovCanHealth on Twitter and PHAC on LinkedIn for updates and deadline reminders.
