Sun Safety Toolkit

Sun Safety Toolkit

Sun Safety Toolkit
January 11, 2016
The Ontario Sun Safety Working Group launched the Sun Safety Toolkit for Ontario Public Health Units in February and the feedback has been very positive.  However, it has been identified that a statement (enjoy the sun safely), was omitted in the banner line of four factsheets.  We apologize for this error.  To prevent this from happening again, we have now incorporated a more rigorous review process prior to releasing any new products.  Please use the revised factsheets attached and available here.

In moving forward, we are happy to release our French toolkit.  This toolkit aims to support our francophone public health professionals to promote the new Sun Safety Recommendations by educating their colleagues in schools, day camps, child care centres, and to the public at large.

The English and French toolkits are being disseminated via alPHa, COMOH, and OPHA to Ontario public health units to distribute to staff.  We ask that public health units co-brand the toolkits, and update affected programs, policies and procedures with the new evidence.  In this way, we will have a consistent message across the province, which will support public action in sun protection behaviours.

A Winter Sun Safety Factsheet is presently being developed and we anticipate its release this Fall 2017.
